HR Generalist

Barbarian is seeking a People Generalist that will oversee the day-to-day HR for our CLYNDR client group and support Barbarian’s employees. The role will be a part of the people and culture team and will collaborate with them on a day-to-day basis to develop the People function. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of HR experience.

The scope of the role will be inclusive of the following:

  •  Projects & Programs – Initiates and owns projects based on conversations with the People team and/or from employees (with approval from the Senior HR Manager). Analyses trends and metrics in partnership with the People team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Onboarding – Manages the flow of new hire onboarding. Administers an onboarding survey to gather continuous feedback and make regular monthly recommendations to the People team to improve upon the onboarding process. Holds regular 30/60/90 day check-ins with new hires.
  • Benefits & Policies – Serve as the first point of contact and respond to inquiries from staff about company benefits, policies, and HR programs. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel. Ensures employees are well-informed of any benefits changes. Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures. Researches and relays trends that directly impact the employee handbook and any policies and procedures.
  • Payroll – Executes administrative tasks to ensure all changes are logged in a timely manner for and according to the payroll schedule. Creates and processes personnel change action forms (and any other paperwork required) and ensures proper approvals; disseminates approved forms.
  • Performance / Career Management – Help administer the performance check-in process in Namely and provide ongoing counsel to employees on the performance management process.
  • Compensation / Employee Recognition – Assists in the administration of compensation programs such as (but not limited to) the quarterly salary review. Provides the team with assistance coordinating recognition programs or one-offs.
  • Culture and Diversity – Works closely with employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Employee Wellness - Always looking out for the wellbeing of employees. Coming up with new ideas to improve their daily lives and proactively seeking out partnerships to support the everyday needs of our team.
  • HRIS – Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Takes ownership of the audit process and works in partnership with the People team to ensure all information is up to date and available upon request if needed. Is responsible for making sure all HRIS data is accurate and up to date. 
  • Employee Relations – Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation. Maintains confidentiality. Empowers all employees to report unethical behavior or conflicts of interest without fear of reprisal.
  • Reporting – Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports from the database. Maintains exit interview data and provides reports as needed. Responsible for the monthly Headcount report. Reviews data regularly to identify trends and call attention to any areas of concern.



  • 3-5 years of professional HR experience required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: friendly, tactful, good negotiator, ability to influence others.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
