The Account Director will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong client relationship while successfully executing digital and/or traditional campaigns. You will manage various projects and work streams for a Global leader in consumer electronics, while helping to organically grow the business through outstanding results, strategic thinking and client partnerships. 

This role requires an enthusiasm for all things digital and brand along with a strong background in leading strategic digital initiatives and campaign productions.. While the majority of your time will be dedicated to one client and one brand, you

may also be asked to take on new business projects to help the agency continue to grow.

What you do:

Account Management

  • Confidently and strategically leading a team to deliver digital creative and innovative ideas that meet client objectives
  • Planning all engagements including: goals, deliverables, schedules and budgets by managing the workflow process
  • With support from agency producers, prioritize projects and resources and work across accounts to ensure that teams are staffed appropriately
  • Serving as a new business resource and actively pursuing new revenue sources while participating in strategic development of new business such as RFP responses and proposal writing
  • Managing implementation of digital offerings and tools.
  • Partnering with Social, Creative and Strategy to provide agency recommendations for new innovative tools, vendors, technologies and digital platforms
  • Being a strong Digital/Social representative amongst integrated team 
  • Participating in overall communications planning for the brand
  • Serving as the trusted voice of the consumer by assimilating customer and marketplace/digital insights into the development of creative strategies
  • Using analytics to drive decisions in a way that yields sustained, measurable results
  • Ensuring all work is client-ready by paying close attention to detail
  • Proactively pursuing opportunities that may result in new projects or work streams
  • Managing media relationships

Financial Planning

  • Managing account P&L from negotiating scopes of work and retainers, making sure work is delivered on budget, and invoicing clients according to the proper terms, while increasing ROI for the agency
  • Negotiating proposal and budget with client, making necessary modifications and arranging contract signing (including writing of scopes of work)
  • Working closely with Finance on forecasting, billing, and reconciling fee and budgets

Leadership

  • Helping mentor the Account Management team, which includes: providing adequate training, overseeing and conducting performance reviews, and resolving issues/problems.
  • Modeling strong presentation skills that encourage participation and effect desired outcomes for meetings
  • Ensuring the use of “best practices” and effective processes across the department and agency
  • Moving quickly and effectively
  • Being an active scholar of the Internet. Reading the trades, the blogs, and being able to make recommendations based on trends and internet happenings. 

What you need: 

  • 5+ years of experience within an advertising agency setting
  • Preferred 2+ years of management experience 
  • Demonstrated experience running large engagements with large clients or equivalent
  • Experience with various projects types, including web, mobile, video, brand, and strategic consulting
  • Proven negotiation skills experience, especially contract negotiations, with both clients and partners
  • Strong knowledge of digital and web development technologies
  • Strong knowledge of Social landscape and platforms
  • Experience working with and leading with multiple layers of client marketing teams - from Brand Manager to Senior Marketing Directors
  • Ability to add structure and process when project plan is unclear/undefined
  • An independent work ethic and drive

Location: NYC, hybrid

Salary range: $120-160K

The starting salary will match the skills and experience in the role assessed during the interview process.
