Community & Creator Manager

We are looking for a energetic, passionate and strategic thinker to join Barbarian as our newest Community Manager & Creator Manager. This person will play an important role as a social media specialist and community advocate on an integrated marketing team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about brands - someone who eats, breathes and loves culture - someone who is always on the hunt for the most entertaining and progressive ways the two interact on digital and social platforms. Specifically, we are looking for a Community Manager & Creator Manager who is particularly adept at TikTok.

We have multiple social brands that we manage at Barbarian and this role could be working on one or more at any given time.

What You Do

  • Create, concept and present social media strategy and integrated marketing campaigns. 
  • Lead the development and ongoing management of editorial calendars for a brand. 
  • Manage all social content through cycle - from brief to scheduling to publishing. 
  • Monitor all community activity to keep a pulse on overall interests and sentiment. Includes being able to quickly identify trends and how to engage platform users through content, features, trends and creators 
  • Understanding of social data and how to incorporate it into day-to-day social content/publishing 
  • Set the channel level goals and report progress to internal team, leadership and client(s) weekly. 
  • Be the go-to expert for all things social media (platforms, etc) and social influencer. Serve as the primary TikTok subject matter expert for Barbarian and multiple clients. 
  • Prepare presentations and be comfortable presenting to clients, agency partners and internal team members. 
  • Bring new and big ideas for how to grow the channel(s) and find scale & efficiencies with other platforms. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for content creators and influencers, funneling all information and direction from multiple internal disciplines and clients. You’ll identify potential creators to work with based on aligned criteria, collaborate with our strategy & creative team to brief creators, liaise with the creators through social platforms, collaborate with production & business affairs to ensure all legal & contractual requirements are covered and ensure content received from creators is leveraged well.

  • TikTok Expert. You are an early adopter of the platform, understand & follow the best TikTok creators & influencers and have a keen sense of how brands should activate on the platform.
  • Social Media Savvy. You are active on every social platform. You can explain how each platform is different from each other. You think about things in cleverly short social-post statements and hashtags. 
  • Strategic. You think before you do and love a good plan that is well considered. You are always curious to understand the why behind human behavior.  
  • Opinionated. You have an opinion on which brands are killing it with their social media efforts and who is failing and can articulate why. 
  • Creative. You know how to tell a story with personality in a limited number of characters and a key visual. You have excellent writing skills and have the ability to concept a creative idea.
  • Observant. You never miss a beat on anything that goes on around you. You have always had a knack for reading people and understanding the context of situations. 
  • Self-Motivated. You are confident and never shy away from a challenge. You work well with teams and direction, but know how to adapt and figure out how to solve problems on your own as well. 

What You Need:

  • Four-year degree in marketing, journalism or communication or similar 
  • Experience interning for a digital marketing agency 
  • An independent work ethic and drive and know when to escalate to higher ups 
  • Strong organizational, communication skills, both oral and written 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Copywriting experience strongly preferred
